The JLPT

The JLPT is the “Japanese Language Proficiency Test” (日本語能力試験, Nihongo NÅryoku Shiken), which is a standardized test to test how proficient non-native speakers are at Japanese.
It is the best known official Japanese test, having been around since 1984.
Currently, the JLPT has 4 levels, with Level 4 being the most basic and Level 1 the most difficult.

What is “Kabuki”?

Kabuki (æŒèˆžä¼Ž) is a traditional theatrical performing art in Japan. It is said to have originated from Kyoto in the early 1600s. Only male actors are allowed on the stage, and they give highly stylized performances while wearing special makeup.
Kabuki performances run the full gamut of human emotions by making extensive use of various sound effects, distinctive costumes and hairpieces, stage settings and props, and other stage mechanisms.
